SHARMILA ARVIND

Trained in visual arts, Sharmila has been creating artworks that are conceptual, portraying concern and sensitivity to the inevitable changes in the environment she lives in. In all her artworks, one can see the presence of a repetitive human element in the form of a limb and certain elements which represent urban life and its complexities. She chooses to be an observer of "life in a city", rather than commenting or critiquing it

In the works currently displayed, Sharmila has tried to explore the subject of urban woman and her tangled relationships. Inspired by surrealists, her surreal images involve semi realistic handling in acrylics and oils.
