Shraddha’s inclinations towards creative and aesthetic elements
can be
attributed to the fact that she spent her formative years in
Aurangabad, home
to Ajanta and Ellora. This inclination was given a more
expressive form
through her training in Bharatnatyam and Odissi dance forms.
An
accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer, she has represented India
in Paris,
Along with dance, she has also been involved in other fine
arts. What began
as an interest in clay modeling and charcoal painting soon
evolved into a
keen craftsmanship in various art forms such as Madhubani
from Bihar and
Tanjore from Tamil Nadu. The medium of oil on canvas became
a part of
Shraddha’s oeuvre around 14 years ago.
With such a keen sense of aesthetics, she pursued her higher
education in
the area of architecture, and is an Architect.
This series is called Sangham Saranam Gacchami which states
the
importance of being with like minded people. This is based
on Buddha’s life
before he decided to leave the world. Each painting can have
a different
message for each one of us depending on our life
experiences. The use of
different colours is ideally supposed to depict Buddha’s
message of peace.
