Shyamala
has always felt nature extremely close to her heart, and what better way, she
wishes to dedicate these works on landscape
to her parents, who always encouraged and supported her in all endeavors of
Art.
Since
childhood, for Shyamala, art in any form had a very special place in her heart,
be it in paintings, sculptures, temple architecture or even dance. She would be
always drawing and sketching of her small visual world. As her father served in
the armed forces, she had the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of
this vast and majestic country. Somehow, the different people, their cultures,
religion, and languages etc. have left a lasting impression on her.
So
after having put in 17 long years of successful corporate life, she decided to
follow her heart and passion to take up art in a serious way and hence the
course in painting at Karnataka
Chitrakala Parishad in 2007, Bangalore. Since
then, she has been painting and presenting her artworks in various forums.
